Just Write is written on a post-it taped to the inside of my computer. As I continue down the road of my own journey of self-development and discovery, I have challenged myself to wake-up each morning and JUST WRITE. These two words inspire me, even when I am feeling empty, to Just Write. I aim for twenty minutes each morning sometimes less, sometimes more, but I always walk away feeling better than I started. These blog entries are the product of following through on this commitment to myself. There is no rhyme or reason other than to Just Write. I am glad you are here. Perhaps I can inspire you to go more in the direction of vulnerability and curiosity of how this simple act can play a part in your overall well-being when YOU JUST WRITE .
Today is one of those days that I woke up at my 4:54 Morning Reset Hour and feel empty. Yesterday was Monday so today is Tuesday and that is one step closer to the weekend so I will start there. Wake-up and find something to be grateful for. Fill your own cup. Others can contribute to filling your cup by lending their energy and love to you, but ultimately It is not anyone else's job to ensure you are fulfilled and loved, but our own. Claiming ownership of filling our own cup can sometimes feel like an awfully big cup to fill. Gratitude, affirmations, setting intentions, breathing, writing and the like is a fairly new practice for me. By waking up each morning and showing gratitude and setting intentions I am setting my focus and energy in a forward motion. No matter how little the movement, motion creates motion and with consistency will become momentum. When we experience for ourselves, that we hold the key to move from a standstill to forward motion, that is powerful. We all get stuck standing still and creating ways to start your momentum can be the difference between success and failure. Victory or defeat. When we assume responsibility for our own happiness we start to shift from the victim to the victor. We no longer blame others for our misfortune.
We have all heard the expression A means to an end. Most likely you have applied this to your own situation at some time. Rather, what if we shifted to something like A means to a beginning? If we continue to apply our actions to a means to an end in some sense we are always applying the same habit, actions to ultimately the same end, and essentially ending up with the same "end" result. What if we instead took control and applied our habits and actions to a new beginning? Just the shift in context from A means to an end to a A means to a new beginning is full of hope, inspiration and opportunity, wouldn't you agree?
