Just Write is written on a post-it taped to the inside of my computer. As I continue down the road of my own journey of self-development and discovery, I have challenged myself to wake-up each morning and JUST WRITE. These two words inspire me, even when I am feeling empty, to Just Write. I aim for twenty minutes each morning sometimes less, sometimes more, but I always walk away feeling better than I started. These blog entries are the product of following through on this commitment to myself. There is no rhyme or reason other than to Just Write. I am glad you are here. Perhaps I can inspire you to go more in the direction of vulnerability and curiosity of how this simple act can play a part in your overall well-being when YOU JUST WRITE .
Yesterday was an extraordinary day. I was a witness to a MIRACLE that gave me confirmation, one-hundred percent, that when we discover a passion we open a gift that unleashes confidence, purpose and empowers us in a way that moves us from the inside out. We SHINE. When you develop and/or discover a passion you cannot help but radiate from the inside out and inspire others just by your Being, and can happen at ANY age. I think this is important. Someone will tell you, you are too young or too old and that is simply not true and is a reflection of them, not you. Continue to SHINE ON at any age. When we are passionate we approach life differently. Not necessarily by what we can take from this world, but thinking more in terms of what can we GIVE to it. Shifting from being a consumer to a CONTRIBUTOR. When we GIVE to those who are around us we create CONNECTION in a way that gives meaning to OUR existence. No words need to be said, more so, it is the unsaid that speaks volumes here as PASSION is something we FEEL FIRST. When we are passionate there is less time for excuses. We simply do what needs to be done to pursue it because we know that the world is waiting for our GIFTS. TIME, also a gift, begins to work in our favor and offers INCENTIVE when we are passionate. There is no time to make excuses or blame the world for what we could be, who we should be, because who we are and who we are becoming lies within me (us). When PASSION is in PROGRESS we are focused on simply being who we are, knowing that WE ARE ENOUGH and those are POWERFUL moments. Recently, I wrote about filling our shells. There are other contributors that fill our shell, but for today's example when we lack passion we are simply just a shell. The shell may appear strong, but the moment we are faced with self-doubt our shell will crumble. Passion is one element of what can FILL our SHELL, keep us GROUNDED and gives our LIFE meaning, makes us whole, and that is important. Passion gives us foresight, a glimpse into our future, and on heavy days it can save us. On days where nothing seems to be going right, having a passion gives hope and a sneak peek of what we could be. Passion is the light that shines through the broken pieces. PASSION has the ability to attract others to your LIGHT that CONTRIBUTE and keep your FIRE burning simply by THEIR existence. PASSION has the ability to manifest PURPOSE within ourselves and because it burns so bright, like a moth to a flame, others cannot help but be drawn to those who possess it. My daughter is eleven and for all of her existence we (her parents) have been her biggest influence in her life. She is currently right on the tipping point of a big shift as other outside influences will begin to make their way into her mind and body. Social Media in all of it's forms, peers, advertisements, brand names, celebrities, and the like telling her, showing her, what she should be not who she could be. She will begin to think and act more independently. Her confidence, self-awareness, although it is strong, will be challenged at a moments notice. There will be constant noise. Where there is noise there is doubt. She will be surrounded by this noise, distraction, inevitably no matter how much we try and protect her and keep her safe. Constant noise that will have her will question her abilities, along with doubt and feelings of wondering if she is good enough. This noise can be her vice or her virtue, but she will need to equip herself with the tools to be able to disable fear, self-doubt and recognize toxicity, in all of it's forms when it rears its ugly head. PASSION will be a tool that she will need to keep close and learn how to utilize this tool to FILL her shell. Passion is fluid and will change as it evolves and matures, as it is suppose to. As her innocence fades what replaces it plays an integral part in her existence. I will wake-up each day and aspire to lend my flame to hers as she continues to find her FIRE and her footing in this world. SHE is one of my PASSIONS and one of my biggest contributors to MY existence. May you SHINE from the inside out today and always, all of you.
